AI Business Portraits: A Trend or a Trap?

In a world where technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, AI business portraits have become the latest buzz. Everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon of transforming simple selfies into professional-looking portraits for CVs, LinkedIn profiles, articles, and avatars.

But, are these AI-generated portraits really worth it?

In light of a recent conversation with one of our clients, I, Katerina Touchon, decided to explore the world of AI-generated business portraits by creating one for myself.

Before you dive into the AI portrait craze, it's essential to tread carefully. While there are numerous AI programs claiming to offer the perfect business portrait, not all of them deliver realistic results. The key lies in choosing an AI platform that not only makes you look good but also keeps it natural.

Here are some popular AI platforms for creating business portraits that I found (and there are many more of them so try to make a search for yourself:

  1. Vidnoz

  2. PFPMaker

  3. ArtGuru (I tried this one; you can see the result below)

  4. TryItOnAI

  5. Hotpot.ai

  6. Aragon.ai

  7. Gioapp.ai

So I experimented with ArtGuru.ai and, while the results were aesthetically pleasing, I wouldn't use it for business purposes. Why? Because the generated portrait, though visually appealing, looked unnatural and, to those who know me, clearly wasn't me.

A less-than-realistic business portrait might inadvertently convey a sense of inauthenticity, which is not the impression you want to leave in professional settings.

So, before you hit that "generate" button on one of the AI headshot generators' websites or apps, consider the impact it might have on how others perceive you.

In the end, while AI business portraits can be a fun experiment, it's crucial to choose wisely. Opt for platforms that not only enhance your appearance but also maintain the authenticity that is essential in the business world.

Stay real, Katerina Touchon
